Jeffrey Nemecek has lots of education in his background. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Hamilton College, located in Clinton, New York, in 1970 before going on to obtain his Juris Doctor Law Degree from the University of Chicago Law School in 1974. He has been admitted to practice law in Alabama since 1975, New York since 1977, Minnesota since 1984, Florida in 1987 and New Jersey since 1989. Overall, Jeffrey Nemecek has several decades’ experience in the practice of law, primarily in the areas of public and project financing.
He ran his own firm, the Law Offices of Jeffrey Nemecek, between 1992 and 1997, Jeffrey has worked with other prominent law firms, primarily in their public financing practice. These days, he can be found as Of Counsel at Denton’s in New York City, where he is primarily addressing the Puerto Rico fiscal crisis and debt restructuring, but he has also been Of Counselor a Partner at Axiom Legal, from 2011-2016, Tillinghast Lichtenstein LLP, from 2006-2008, and about a half dozen other prominent firms since 1976. Among the projects for which public finance attorney Jeffrey Nemecek has played a role have included important infrastructure projects, like solid waste and resource recovery facilities, water and sewer facilities, airports and hydroelectric facilities. Those projects are in addition to the many hospitals, schools, courthouses, correctional facilities and facilities for non-profits, to help them improve the communities in which he operates. The types of financing Jeffrey Nemecek has worked with has run the gamut, including project-revenue financing, conduit transactions, excise tax revenue obligations, loan pool obligations, taxpayer funded projects and obligations, and government appropriated funding options, including tax-exempt and taxable obligations.
